Where are ADUs allowed:

ADUs are permitted only in single family lots.

Types of ADUs:

Attached, Detached, or Converted ADUs are permitted in North Salem.

Parking:

At least two additional off-street parking spaces shall be provided for an accessory apartment.

Size:

The accessory apartment floor area can not exceed 750 square feet.

Rental Use:

Accessory apartments can be used for short-term and long-term rentals.

Other Requirements:

Owner occupancy is required.

A second ADU is allowed if lot size permits and the certificate of occupancy is met, the main dwelling must be a 1500 sq.ft. minimum.
